Kiddush invitation wording

Celebrate the birth of a daughter with a clear Kiddusha Rabba invitation. Choose a warm family announcement and give guests the Shabbos details they need.

Names and the family announcement

Decide whether to include the baby’s name, the parents’ names or the family name alone. Ask the family which spelling and titles they prefer. Choose wording that fits your family’s custom and keep the announcement separate from the address.

A simple starting point

With gratitude to Hashem, we invite family and friends to a Kiddush in celebration of the birth of our daughter [name]. Shabbos [parsha and date], following davening at [shul or venue], [full address]. The Friedman Family. Replace the sample family name and every bracketed detail.

Hebrew wording to personalize

Have the family approve the final names, wording and titles.

Make the timing easy to understand

If the Kiddush follows a particular minyan, identify it clearly. If there is a separate starting time, include it. Check the room or entrance as well as the shul’s address. Review the invitation on a phone before sending it.
