Siyum invitation wording

A Siyum invitation celebrates a learning milestone and invites participants to the gathering or seudah. State what is being completed and who is hosting.

Identify the learning milestone

Include the masechta, seder or other learning being completed. Confirm the exact spelling of the learning title and the names of the participants or hosts. Choose wording that fits a personal Siyum, a family gathering or a communal celebration.

A simple English starting point

With gratitude to Hashem, we invite you to join us in celebrating the completion of [masechta or learning]. The Siyum and seudas mitzvah will take place on [weekday and date] at [time], [venue and full address]. Hosted by [names or organization].

Make the schedule useful

If the Siyum and seudah have separate times or locations, list both clearly. Include the name of the beis medrash or hall and any entrance instructions. Add a contact only if guests need to reserve a place or ask about arrangements.

Match the design to the text

A seforim or study-themed design suits the occasion, but readability comes first. Long learning titles may need their own line. Check Hebrew spelling, dates and names, then ask another participant to review the finished invitation.
